Georgette answered the callof God in February 2008 by establishing Divine Rest, Inc. as a 501 (C)(3) non-profit organization designed to assist single homeless women. The purpose of Divine Rest is to equip, encourage and empower women with the skills to enhance their quality of life.
Georgette is joined by a group of dedicated individuals serving as Divine Rest, Inc. Board of Directors along with an influx of loyal partners, sponsors and supporters who are diligently working together to make her dream of purchasing a home for women in need of shelter . They are committed to organizing various fundraisers to benefit single, homeless women in their"Hope fora Home" Project.
Georgette is a published author of her first book, "30 Days of Divine Rest". She is an anointed writer and inspirational speaker who loves to inspire and encourage others. She possesses great leadership skills with the heart of a servant.
Georgette worships faithfully at the Sanctuary of Savannah. Her ministry, Divine Rest ministers to the homeless and is instrumental in bringing those to church that would come by providing transportation. She spent several years dedicating her time to cook and serve a hot breakfast every Sunday morning before service for the men of the Old Savannah City Mission and anyone else who wanted a hot meal.
She worked at The Savannah Board of Realtors as the MLS Director for close to 10 years. She presently works full time at ReMax Savannah as a receptionistShe has been featured on the front page of our local newspaper, The Savannah Morning News for her dedication to the homeless and has been interviewed on several occasions by WSAV for Divine Rest's monthly visits to the homeless camps. She has also been a guest on the Sanctuary of Savannah's local TV program, Red Letter TV.
Born and raised in Savannah, Georgia, Georgette attended public schools in Chatham County and is a graduate of Windsor Forest High School. She has been attending Second Arnold Christian Education School for the past five years studying the Word of God.
Georgette is the loving mother of two beautiful daughters, Charmeika Jackson and the late Demetria Jackson-Robinson. She is the proud grandmother of five amazinggrandchildren. She is also the step mother of Corey Knox and a son she helped raise, Jerry Mitchell. She is the daughter of the late George Pinckney of Miami, Florida and the late Geraldine Pinckney of Savannah, Georgia.
She demonstrates great compassion and love for all people and is a strong believer in treating others as she wants to be treated. Spending quality time with her family and friends is of the utmost importance to her! Georgette is now working on her second book.
